During your appointment a specialist nurse will perform a risk assessment and provide you with information on the vaccines and antimalarials you may need prior to your trip.
For information prior to your appointment you can contact your Practice Nurse at your GP surgery or visit the NaTHNaC website:
https://www.travelhealthpro.org.uk/
We will discuss ways you can try to stay healthy abroad during your appointment. It is important that you take responsibility for your own travel health needs as healthcare standards vary throughout the world. Try to make a timely appointment prior to travel as most vaccines take at least 2 weeks to take effect and certain vaccinations require completion of a course of 2 or 3 vaccines. We would recommend getting in touch at least one month before your trip.
